John P. Monahon

I am a partner in the firm’s New Venture practice and Corporate Transactions & Securities group. I advise high-growth technology companies on corporate finance, technology agreements, and mergers and acquisitions. I also have significant experience with venture-backed and private equity-owned companies, which I counsel on corporate governance, debt and equity financing, and go-to-market strategies.

Prior to joining Thompson Hine, I worked at several law firms focused on assisting emerging growth companies.  While earning a joint international M.B.A. and J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and University of South Carolina Moore School of Business, I also worked in the joint venture department of China’s largest law firm.

When I am not practicing law, I work on my side hustle as the co-founder of a holiday company that was featured on Shark Tank and QVC.  I also entertain delusions of grandeur on the tennis court as a weekend warrior.
