I’m constantly appreciative of and excited by the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs building high-growth companies (and the investors who back them). I provide strategic and practical advice from the time a concept is an idea on a napkin (or an invention in a lab) to when a company is growing and scaling toward a liquidity event.
I was a biology major (and am a licensed patent attorney) and continue to be a general technology nerd (name the buzzword (e.g., gene therapy, crypto/blockchain, AI, quantum computing, fintech) – I’ve been down the rabbit hole). I enjoy learning about new technologies and business models and helping entrepreneurs develop and execute strategies around intellectual property protection, capital raising, and general legal and business issues.
In short, I help entrepreneurs with entity formation, raising capital, hiring, customer contracts/partnerships, corporate governance and exits, and I help investors structure and close deals and funds.
Prior to practicing as a lawyer (but after being an anatomy teaching assistant, bartender, caddie, smoothie maker and general “millennial drifter”), I was a director at Rev1 Ventures. At Rev1 I was part of an incredible team that invested in and provided advice to technology startups and worked with The Ohio State University, OhioHealth and Nationwide Children’s Hospital to commercialize technologies developed by the amazing innovators at those institutions.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and fur babies (Presley and Hiro). I’m an overly competitive weekend warrior (primarily, but not exclusively, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, ping-pong, jogging) and news junkie (business/sports/politics).
