<a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/professionals/jim-butler/">Jim Butler</a>, a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group in Dayton, focuses on disputes involving the Uniform Commercial Code, supply chains, software and trade secrets. His practice also includes electronic contracting, intellectual property and general commercial litigation. He rejoined the firm in 2021 after nearly 10 years in elected office as an Ohio state representative. Butler’s legislative service culminated in his elevation to Speaker Pro Tempore of the Ohio House of Representatives in his final term before leaving governmental duty due to term limits. He received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, his M.A. from the University of Maryland, and his B.S. from the United States Naval Academy, with honors and distinction.
